New Years Eve is without a doubt one of the biggest nights of the year, and better yet it is a great excuse to dress up, get creative and get your groove on. Being a highly social night of the year, I know what it is like to be faced with the awful dilemma of what-to-wear, however fear not ladies, I have come to the rescue! Whether you are preparing for a big New Years Eve party, a casual get together or something in-between, I am here to help you find that show stopping outfit that will have you turning heads and will ensure you bring in the new year with a bang.
For The Party Girl:
A wise person once told me, when in doubt wear sparkles, and on New Years Eve there is nothing more appropriate. This shimmery pleated midi skirt is perfect for those with a fancy soirée on their New Years Eve agenda. Being a functional yet fashionable bottom piece, this skirt works with almost any top so you are guaranteed to find something in your wardrobe that will work. As the skirt has a high-rise elastic banded waist, it makes for an easy pull on fit, and the floaty pleated shape adds a touch of elegance. I decided to pair my skirt with a blush coloured crop, a shimmering clutch and glittering heels, however if that is too OTT for your glitter tolerance, sneakers or brogues are a great alternative to dress it down. This skirt will undoubtedly have you dressed to impress, as after all you can never go wrong with a bit of sparkle.
For a Casual Get-together:
If you are planning to stick closer to home this New Years Eve, you can still embrace the opportunity to dress up. Being one of 2016’s biggest fashion trends appearing on the runway, red carpet and the streets, the off the shoulder top has become a wardrobe must-have this year due to it’s versatile nature. This top is great for practically any occasion as although it may seem rather casual, it is still very feminine, flirty and flattering. For a casual yet chic look, pair your off the shoulder top with some fun dressy shorts, platform sandals and a statement clutch, or go all out with a midi skirt and heels, either way you will most certainly be on trend.
For the In-betweeners
Not quite sure what the night has installed for you? Going to a house party, but could end up out somewhere and do not want to be underdressed? Well the slip dress is the perfect pick for you then! These dresses are so fab because much like the off the shoulder top, they are so versatile, however you do not have to worry about what to wear on the bottom. The easiest way to wear these slinky dresses would be to keep it modest with a few pieces of jewellery and some sandals. However if you would prefer to be a little more fancy, then heels and a choker will give off a more sophisticated vibe. If you are worried about looking like you have just got out of bed or afraid of showing too much skin, then simply opt for a good old 90’s throwback and layer your slip with a tee underneath. With the right amount of confidence and attitude, the slip dress is a perfect New Years Eve candidate and will have you feeling ready to take on the new year in style.
Whatever your plans are for the 31st December, just remember that if there was ever a night to bust out your most bold, colourful and sparkly outfit, New Years Eve is the one.
