Match Made In Heaven

Do you ever go to get ready, open your closet, and all of a sudden a dreadful, diabolical feeling hits you like a bus and you realise that you have nothing to wear? You pull out everything from your wardrobe, try it on, mix and match and yet nothing seems to work? You realise that there is no top in your wardrobe that can be paired back with your favourite new skirt. Or you have the perfect top with no bottoms to match. Don’t worry, we have all been there and lived through the pain, but did you ever think that there could be one very easy, simple solution to this nasty dilemma? That’s right, all along the answer has been there, waiting in the stores and calling your name. It’s the co-ordinated set!

Co-ord sets make choosing an outfit super easy and stress free. Forget those chaotic times where all your clothes end up in a heap on the floor. These matching two piece sets give you a full outfit without having to think! The versatility of these wonderful sets means that not only can you wear them as a bang all in one option, but you can also work them as solo separates, giving you endless options. Handy right? Co-ord sets come in many variations, i.ea top paired with either a skirt, shorts, and even flared pants, however this season I have been crushing on my crop and a-line skirt. This soft woven white and natural set gives off a raw vibe yet still flaunts a fresh summer look. I decided to pair this super set with some nude sandals and a classic statement clutch for a snazzy laid back outfit.

These matchy-matchy sets will have you looking twice as nice and all set to go. So if you don’t want a repeat of what happened last time you had nothing to wear, get a co-ord set now! (Maybe a couple, there is no harm in that, right?) It’s a no brainer, a match made in heaven, these sets truly are lifesavers.

That's a Wrap!

Wearing: Top- Sir the Label, Skirt- Zulu and Zephyr, Shoes- Spring Court

The ultra-modern, highly popular wrap top is the perfect summer piece. It is super chic, minimalistic, and goes with anything. If you are one of those people who struggle with what to wear in the morning, than this top is an ideal option for you as it is so versatile. You can pair it with a skirt, shorts, jeans, flared pants, and so the list goes on. The wrap top is one of my summer favourites as it is great to switch up your style a bit and can be worn for any occasion. The top is easily adjusted to fit your figure and if tightened can fully accentuate your womanly curves, making it a feminine piece but with a hint of edge that will have you turning heads.

My wrap top features a deep V neck and oversized sleeve detail. The sleeves are designed so that they can be worn either rolled up or down, and the wrap feature can be tied through the front or wrapped around to the back. (See, told you it was versatile!) The piece is made of linen, (my favourite summer fabric), and sits on my waist allowing a cheeky bit of skin to show to keep me cool in this hot weather. I styled my top with a wrap denim skirt, (that’s right, double wrap! I guess you could say I am obsessed. I also paired it with some white sneakers and simple jewellery to give off that fresh summer vibe.

So if you don’t already own a wrap top, I would highly recommend you invest in one now and remember - neutral colours offer more versatility. This piece will have you all wrapped up and ready to go!

Lots of love,

Loving Linen

Summer time is well and truly upon us. The sun is bright, the weather is warm, but finding an outfit that is not too hot to wear can be a challenge. I too struggled with this once upon a time, however now when the days are blazing I know exactly what to wear. Linen!

Linen is easy, breezy, and has many attractive properties which make it the perfect summer fabric. Due to the fibre specifics and the weave, linen provides a great airflow and will not stick to your skin because of the fabric’s structure. Being a ‘“stiff” fabric, linen is not clingy around the body and possesses a high air permeability which means that the air can flow through the fabric easily, keeping the body cool. Linen also allows the body to be rid of moisture as the fabric has the power to absorb any perspiration on the skin. Linen is also a good conductor of heat which means that when perspiration is absorbed it will evaporate off quickly so you will be sweat stain free!

Quick Fact: Those who wear linen in summer feel 3˚-4˚ below and perspire about 1.5 times less than those who are wearing silk or cotton.

Not only does linen allow the body to breathe, but it also makes for an effortless, yet understated look and it is comfortable and practical. There is also no need to worry about ironing, as creased linen can give off an edgy vibe. Here I have taken my favourite linen pieces which have become a staple in my summer wardrobe and styled them to show you just how simple and fresh this fabric can be.

So there is no need to fret about the sweat this summer, just add some linen to your wardrobe and you will be feeling fine in no time.
